The COVID-19 global pandemic has changed the world and created unprecedented national crisis. But we are overcoming the challenges and coming out of this together, stronger than ever. Chiropractic is open for business and we are here to help you revamp and recharge.

Each year, the chiropractic community convenes in Orlando, Fla., at the premier meeting place for chiropractic: The National by Florida Chiropractic Association (FCA). Initially, there was uncertainty regarding the event taking place. After surveying thousands of FCA members about continuing-education events in 2020, an overwhelming 70 percent of respondents told us they want to get back to events as long as appropriate safety procedures are in place. So, we are doing just that with a Safe Space 2020 Safe + Clean Plan.

Precautions and Safety

Your well-being is FCA's No. 1 priority. Here is what is in place as of press time to protect your health and peace-of-mind so you can focus on getting down to business:

  • Temperature checks will be conducted before entering the event.
  • Masks will be provided.
  • Plexiglas shields will be placed on registration counters.
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the event.
  • Aisles will be expanded to 11-foot, one-way guided paths; booth spaces and highly accessed areas will also be widened.
  • Nightly cleaning of all touchable surfaces, hand sanitizer stations throughout the show-floor and exhibitor education of best practices.
  • Sparse seating in educational sessions (currently less than 50 percent of normal occupancy) will be set for classrooms. Additional cleaning measures will take place between every class session.
  • Food and beverage will be provided in a contactless manner.
  • Outdoor spaces will be used during break times.

Expert Training

This year, the focus is on increasing competency, fine-tuning tools, diversifying offerings and adapting to current times. Central topics include:

  • Patient-Centered Care
  • Technology Implementation 2.0
  • Occupational Health
  • Business, Rules and Laws: Let Us Protect You

The National also offers specialty tracks and diplomates to help you grow your practice and serve patients. Tracks include Technology in Chiropractic; Technique; Practice Building; Newly Licensed DCs; Students; and all Florida- and Georgia-required subjects. These are all included with the registration fee. Diplomates include DABCI (lab testing and internal disorders), ACBN (nutrition) and ACNB (neurology) and require additional fees.

Team Building

Don't forget your team! The National provides something for everyone in the industry. Bring your team and help them excel. Challenge them to learn new skills they can bring back to the practice.

  • Massage therapists can learn about the power of DCs and LMTs working together and attain 18 hands-on / live certification hours including required credits, available for national CE credit.
  • X-ray technicians can explore and focus on unique clinical cases shared by veterans in the field. Twelve hours of CRT certification available.
  • CCPAs can earn up to 12 CE hours, including the required Medical Errors.
  • CAs earn a certificate when attending The Ultimate CA track. This is an opportunity for networking with peers, learning the latest and greatest to bring back to the office.

Extra Show Perks

In addition to superior education, The National still offers the opportunity to unwind and reconnect with colleagues, and will provide these events in a socially distanced atmosphere.

For example, after attending classes all day, stroll through the largest vendor exposition in the world. Stop and visit the many sponsors including Platinum Sponsor Standard Process. Other sponsors include Aspen Green, Biotics Research Corporation, Chiropractic Economics, Dynamic Chiropractic, ECLIPSE EHR Solutions, Erchonia Corporation, Foot Levelers Inc., NCMIC Insurance Company, Scrip Hessco and Summus Medical Laser.

Even with a socially distanced show floor limited to 200 companies, you will still see your favorite vendors and experience new products that will augment your practice. The expo also delivers $10,000 in cash prizes, booth drawings and many freebies.

Virtual and Online Learning

For those not able or ready to attend live events, attend our first-time virtual event and earn 10 hours of clinical CEs approved in 25 states. Additionally, FCA is pleased to announce the option to earn CEs through online learning.

ChiroLearn.org is a new online learning platform providing 24/7 access to top presenters and engaging content for your license renewal. Browse through the library of CE and non-CE courses and practice-building webinars highlighting speakers from FCA live events. It's a great way to keep your whole staff engaged and in the right mindset during these times. New content is added daily.

Stand United at The National

This year's The National will look different, but we are committed to bringing you the same quality, energy and rejuvenation for your practice, all within our Safe Event Guidelines. You are essential and the time is now for us to stand strong, united in the belief that chiropractic can facilitate the health of millions during this unprecedented time. We can't wait to see you!

The National by FCA will be held at the Hyatt Regency Orlando, Aug. 27-30, 2020. For more information, visit TheNationalChiro.com.
