Kimberly Thompson, LAc has worked in the field of health and wellness since 1996. She received her Master's of Science degree from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2008—specializing in chronic pain conditions. Kimberly owns Meridian Family Acupuncture and also works for Miridia Technology as an Acupuncture Research Analyst. With her acupuncture research experience, she has found it most fulfilling to travel internationally, teaching acupuncturists the world over about the benefits of modernizing their practice of acupuncture.

The motivation behind the "Acupuncture Technology" column, according to Kimberly, is to help struggling acupuncturists to find their niche. "I'm a typical acupuncturist and NOT a technical guru, BUT I've found ways to easily include technology in my clinic-and I'm successful. You don't have to be some super nerd to make this stuff work. If you want to be successful, there are modern tools available. You just have to know how to find them and utilize them."

Kimberly is a busy wife and mother of 9 children. She and her family reside in Meridian, Idaho. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, sewing, camping, fishing, and casual bike rides.
